Defd, but aren't the WBTS and the FDS one and the same, I don't see how you can separate the two.

defd- taking bets on how long it takes for him to become apostate...
by in a new york bethel minute inhaha i hope this doesn't come across as mean or jerky or libelous... but i can totally see defd becoming apostate... he posts here a lot which means he reads even more.
to me it's just a matter of "seeing it when you're ready to"... kind of like those 3d art things that were popular in the mid-90's... it's invisible until you make deep focus and at the same time blur your eyes to what you would normally see.

Are you still "Mad" or "Angry" at the Watchtower Orgaization?
by JH indid your "anger or hate" for the jw organization go up or down since you left the org?
when you read all the stories on this forum about other people's experience, does your anger resurface?.
could you go as far as saying that what they did to you or your family is unforgivable, keeping you constantly mad at them.

I hate em, always have always will. If my family would make a mass exodus that would be great and I would think about them a little less, but I will always despise what the WBTS stands for.

I read and interesting essay once called "What is True Religion" which I found interesting. It looked at religion from social utility viewpoint rather than which doctrines were "right", really got me thinking about how a religion might not be "true" so to speak but can have a valuable social utility.

Defd, makes sense now why you are a more well adjusted dub, the ones that were raised dub are usually not as normal as you in regards to education, saving, working etc.

Seriously Butt, I felt the same way at first, being raised a JW just makes you think that all other churches and church goes are freaks (talk about the pot calling the kettle black) and that everything they do is weird etc. That is just sort of normal about things you don't understand. When I met my wife I started going with her to the Catholic church, for me this was really weird, total freak show, but once I was convinced that the JW's were full of crap I just started watching what was going on with a different view point. First thing I noticed was that the people there by and large were a whole lot more normal than the good folks I grew up around at the KH. And once I began to understand what was behind some of the rituals etc. while I didn't always buy it, it no longer seemed so weird to me as they have a decent explination for most of what they do.
The unfamiliar always seems strange, but I am glad that I don't have that knee jerk revulsion for other religions and churches anymore so that I can go to a wedding or funeral and participate without getting the creepy crawlies.

Is "love" a product of evolution?
by AlmostAtheist in(this focuses on romantic love with someone you might have sex with.).
looking at the world from an evolutionary/natural selection basis, life exists to reproduce.
if it can live through the process, that's fine.

Okay, where's Tetra, I asked sort of this same question and he had some pretty interesting stuff to say and read regarding social evolution which rides piggyback on physical evolution. Basically the theory as I understood it was that our social behaviors evolved as our brains and culture evolved.

Sure, its not that hard to do as long as you don't still hang on to the WBTS had the truth, or unless you have decided that religion is just a total waste of time.
